Green Tea, Cut & Sifted (Organic)
Green tea is one of those rare herbs that sits comfortably at the intersection of ancient tradition and modern science. It has been consumed in China and Japan for over four thousand years — first as medicine, then as ceremony, then as daily ritual. Today it is one of the most studied botanicals on the planet, and the research keeps confirming what traditional herbalists already knew: this leaf does something. When you understand what's actually happening in that cup, a simple morning tea starts to feel like a very deliberate act.
Our green tea is certified organic, cut and sifted — minimally processed to preserve its naturally occurring polyphenols, catechins, and L-theanine. Grassy, clean, and gently vegetal with a smooth finish. Camellia sinensis — the same species behind white, oolong, and black tea, differentiated only by how the leaf is handled after harvest. Green tea is unoxidized, which is exactly why it retains so much of what makes it valuable.
A note on brewing: green tea is one of the few herbs where temperature genuinely matters. Boiling water scorches the leaf and turns the cup bitter. We'll tell you exactly how to get it right.
Traditionally Used to Support
- Mental clarity and focus — traditionally used to support alertness and cognitive function; the combination of caffeine and L-theanine produces a calm, focused energy distinct from coffee
- Healthy metabolism — traditionally used to support metabolic function and healthy weight management as part of a balanced lifestyle
- Antioxidant defense — rich in catechins, particularly EGCG, one of the most studied antioxidant compounds in the plant kingdom
- Cardiovascular wellness — traditionally used to support healthy circulation and heart function
- Immune support — used in traditional Asian medicine as a daily tonic for overall vitality and resilience
How to Use
Hot infusion (recommended): Heat water to 175°F — not boiling. Steep 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz for 2–3 minutes. Strain and enjoy immediately. Avoid oversteeping, which releases tannins and bitterness. Re-steep the same leaves 1–2 times for a lighter, sweeter cup.
Cold brew: Add 1–2 teaspoons to 8 oz of cold water. Refrigerate for 6–8 hours. Strain and drink. Cold brewing produces a naturally sweeter, less bitter cup with excellent antioxidant retention.
Blending: Green tea is a versatile base for herbal blends. Pairs beautifully with peppermint for a refreshing clarity blend, lemon balm for a calming focus tea, or ginger and tulsi for an energizing adaptogen blend. Its clean flavor supports rather than competes with other botanicals.
