How to Use

Ground seed (recommended): Grind whole seeds in a coffee grinder to a coarse meal. Add 1–2 tablespoons to smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, or sprinkle over food. Grinding increases silymarin bioavailability significantly compared to whole seed or tea preparations.

As a tea: Lightly crush or grind seeds and steep 1–2 teaspoons in 8–10 oz of just-boiled water for 15–20 minutes, covered. Strain well. Mildly bitter and nutty — pairs well with dandelion root and burdock for a liver support blend.

Tincture: Macerate ground seeds in high-proof alcohol for 4–6 weeks. Silymarin extracts well in both water and alcohol. A classic preparation for liver and detox support.
