Red Clover Tops, Whole
Red clover is one of those herbs that has quietly earned its place in the apothecary through centuries of consistent use across wildly different traditions. A native of Europe and central Asia, it naturalized across North America so thoroughly that most people assume it has always been here — a testament to how well it fits into the landscape. In European folk medicine it was a blood purifier and skin herb. In 19th century American herbalism it became a cornerstone of alterative formulas. In modern phytomedicine it is one of the most studied herbs for women's wellness, owing to its rich isoflavone content. It is a humble meadow flower with a surprisingly deep resume.
Our red clover is whole dried flower tops — the globe-shaped magenta flower heads of Trifolium pratense, harvested at peak bloom and carefully dried to preserve their isoflavones, flavonoids, and volatile compounds. Mildly sweet and pleasantly floral, with a gentle grassy character that makes red clover one of the more approachable herbs in the apothecary. Responsibly sourced and packed to order in small batches.
Also available: If you prefer a finer cut for tincturing or blending, we also carry certified organic red clover aerial parts, cut and sifted — listed separately in our shop.
